Educational Psychology assessments update January 2021 – COVID 19
I am currently working with staff and parents over video. Assessments with school age children are currently being carried out in the meeting room at The Holiday Inn, Central Milton Keynes. The hotel has a COVID 19 risk assessment in place which includes a large meeting room to allow for social distancing and use of hand sanitisers and cleaning materials which are used throughout the assessment.
There is a comfortable area for parents to wait with free coffee and Wi-Fi and parking outside the hotel.
Here is some recent feedback from a parent and student about the assessment process and COVID 19 safety
The video call with Lisa before our meeting was really helpful. The venue was easy to find, with plenty of paid parking and felt very Covid-safe. The student room was more than large enough, and the outside suite was comfortable, with free wi-fi and coffee facilities for waiting parents (so a good opportunity to catch up online!).
Sam’s comments (parent)
Lisa was very nice and explained everything very well. The venue and room were quiet and relaxing and very Covid-safe. I even got to go for a walk locally, at break time. Please continue to bring a pencil case, water bottle and hand sanitiser.
Student’s comments
A face covering is needed when walking into the hotel and to the toilet but not when seated or during the assessment.

Testimonials
What People Say
Lisa was pivotal to our son’s successful transition to secondary school. Lisa listened to our concerns and gave us constructive strategies to use at home, which really helped.
She also produced a written report for school and liaised with staff ensuring that they understood our son’s needs and how to meet them.
Our son wouldn’t have had such a positive start to Secondary School without Lisa’s expertise and guidance.
A Parent
When we needed to understand more about our son’s difficulties with some aspects of his schoolwork, Lisa spent time with our son, myself and the school to get an all-round understanding of his needs.
What was even more important for us though was that she provided recommendations as to how we could help him going forward.
